Bringing together two breakthrough technologies that have revolutionised running, the Nike Free Flyknit Running Shoe for women delivers dynamic flexibility with a comfortable fit like no other. With even more cushioning than ever before, these Nike shoes combine the Nike Free tech with the Nike Flyknit design for a running shoe that moves and feels natural in every way.

Every radical technology has a history, and this shoe is no different. When three Nike shoe designers discovered that Stanford athletes had been training barefoot on the university’s golf course, they were inspired to create a shoe that felt both natural and weightless, just as bare feet would. After 8 years of analysing the biomechanics of runners’ feet in motion, the team gained insights into the foot’s natural landing angle, pressure and toe position, and so Nike Free was born — an unconventional and flexible running shoe that moved naturally. Similarly, the Nike Flyknit technology was inspired by runners’ feedback, looking for a shoe with the snug fit and flexibility of a sock. After a four-year mission with teams of programmers, engineers and designers, the knit upper was created with static properties for structure and durability. By refining the single layer to have support, flexibility and breathability, the featherweight seamless Flyknit upper was here to change the game.

Fusing two technologies propelled by intelligence and design, the Nike Free Flyknit Shoe features a new midsole pattern that expands, flexes and contracts with the foot with every step. With a next-generation design, the midsole expands in multiple directions, thanks to a new tri-star pattern, adding flexibility to every stride. A rounded heel mimics the shape of the foot to roll naturally with the ground, while the midsole foam delivers comfortable cushioning and lightweight durability that lets you put miles beneath your feet. The single-seam Flyknit upper provides a sock-like fit, with targeted areas of high breathability, stretch and support. Flywire cables woven into the upper are tightened through the laces for dynamic support that move with you. Its non-stretch heel material adds structure to the design, while lightweight solid rubber segments under the heel and toe enhance traction and durability.

If you train in a lightweight, supportive shoe that empowers you on your run, then there’s nothing holding you back from pushing your boundaries and crushing your goals. Begin by checking out the latest range of Nike products online at Sun & Sand Sports.
