The SSS Fitness Fest weekend played host to a huge variety of different sports activities for a wide range of interests – from Zumba and Les Mills, to calisthenics and pole fitness, and it was great to see so many different people trying out new things at the event.
Michelle and Vlada from Pole Fit Dubai opened our eyes to a whole new style of sport in the form of aerial fitness, as they showed some serious power and precision on the pole. It’s also great to see Pole Fitness taking on a more serious stance as a sport in its own right, stripping away the more stereotypically seedy connotations it is often associated with.
It may look a little daunting, but this style of workout is suitable for all ages, fitness abilities, body shapes and experience levels. With enough practice, aerial arts promises a stronger, leaner body, not to mention giving you more confidence. Aerial arts as an everyday sport is proving to be a big trend in Dubai right now, not only because it is great for personal fitness, it’s also a lot of fun!
Check out the interview with Michelle and Vlada as they talked us through Pole Fitness – what this sport means to them and why we should all give it a go!
