Euro 2016 has officially begun and we can’t wait to see how this year’s edition pans out as world-class teams go head to head in the ultimate football battle.

Featuring footballers such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Zlatan Ibrahimović, Antoine Griezmann and many more European talents, this edition of the Euros will see a mixture of legendary and brand new star talent – all with a natural knack for footballing and armed with an arsenal of perfectly designed football shoes.

So let’s dive a little deeper into the shoes that these footballers use to dominate the pitch.

Cristiano Ronaldo

Arguably one of the best players in the world right now, Cristiano Ronaldo has countless trophies attached to his name. Winner of 3 Ballon d’Or awards for individual excellence, the Portuguese captain is an agile attacker, capable of playing on either wing as well as through the center of the pitch. Always a danger for the defenders, Ronaldo will most certainly be looking forward to performing to his best for Euro 2016 with his Nike Mercurial series of football shoes.

Zlatan Ibrahimović

The best striker that Paris Saint-Germain has seen for the past couple of seasons, Zlatan Ibrahimović has proved himself to be a very capable and unique footballer in all rights. Known for his arrogance both on and off the pitch, the Swede has been adorning the Nike Mercurial Vapor X Shoe to enhance his already enhanced set of skills and there’s more to come from him during the Euro 2016 edition. Designed for exceptional ball control, these football shoes are configured for optimum firm ground play with a tongue-less and ultra-thin upper design – just the way Zlatan likes it.

Euro 2016

Dimitri Payet

The French international footballer who plays for West Ham in the Premier League is primarily an attacking midfielder and has been described as a player who is quick and blessed with terrific technique and dribbling skills. We’re sure he’ll replicate his stellar gameplay in the Euro 2016 as he continues to wear the Nike Mercurial Superfly series of football shoes.

Harry Kane

Since coming to prominence in the previous season, Harry Kane is Totthenham Hotspur’s star striker, and he has made a name for himself through precision and exquisite ball control – winning the coveted Barclays Golden Boot Award for the 2015-16 season. With a confident and positive approach to games, the Englishman prefers to wear the Nike Hypervenom Phinish Soccer Shoe to improve his stellar game. Created for deadly agility on the pitch, these football shoes feature a textured NikeSkin upper for increased touch and ball control, and an anatomically contoured finish that creates a glove-like fit for care-free sprints.

Euro 2016

Antoine Griezmann

The 25 year old Atletico Madrid player, Antoine Griezmann, was a powerhouse of a performer for his team last season in both La Liga and the Champion’s League competitions. Scoring around 22 goals in the domestic league and 32 goals over all last season, the Frenchman was a running threat that every defender feared, and he preferred the PUMA evoSPEED series to leave the opposing defenders in his wake – and he hopes to continue doing the same during the Euro 2016 championship.

Cesc Fàbregas

One of the most prolific players of his time, Cesc Fabregas has always turned up for Spain in a prominently midfield and playmaking role. With his eye for the plays of the game, Fabregas was a key figure in Spain’s European Championship victories in 2008, 2012 and the World Cup 2010 triumph – in which he supplied the pass for Iniesta’s winning goal in the final. The Spaniard prefers to wear the PUMA evoPOWER 1.3 Firm Ground Shoe – a pair of football shoes that is designed with speed in mind as they have Grip Tex print uppers for enhanced ball control and a DuoFlex outsole for enhanced forefoot flexibility and ground contact.

Euro 2016

Paul Pogba

The French professional footballer, Paul Pogba is a central midfielder for Juventus and with his play style, he is comfortable playing both attack and defense positions. He is currently one of the most sought after players, with big clubs lining up to sign him, and rightfully so as he has proved time and again with his skill for goal scoring and a penchant for the spectacular.  It’s no surprise that a powerful, skillful and creative player like Pogba chooses to wear the adidas Ace PureControl series of football shoes during the club league matches as well as the Euro 2016.

Sergio Ramos

A strong player who excels in the air, Sergio Ramos is a powerful defender and a goal threat on set-pieces. The Spaniard is a competent and aggressive tackler, ensuring no striker goes by him without a challenge. Naturally gifted with pace and possessing good technical ability, Sergio Ramos opts to wear the Nike Tiempo Legend VI Football Shoe for the Euro 2016 as it helps him bring his ultimate game to the field. Made with water-repellant New Tiempo Adaptive kangaroo leather, the football shoes feature a tongue-less construction and midfoot cage for a lockdown fit, allowing the defender to maintain a consistent touch throughout the match.

Euro 2016

Manuel Neuer

Manuel Neuer is a unique player. A goalkeeper by profession, he’s been described as a “sweeper-keeper” because of his uncommon playing style and speed when rushing off his line – yes, instead of waiting for the ball to reach him, he usually rushes out and knocks it away, disorienting any attackers. Also known for his quick reflexes and excellent shot-stopping abilities, the German commands his area with accurate control and distribution of the ball, which he does whilst wearing the adidas Ace series of football shoes – the same that he’ll continue to wear during the Euro 2016 tournament.

Toby Alderweireld

Recognised as one of the best defenders in the Premier League, Toby Alderweireld was a defensive megaton for Tottenham Hotspur. The Belgian formed an impressive central defensive partnership with national team colleague Jan Vertonghen and his form helped Tottenham to achieve the best defensive record in the Premier League, with only 25 goals conceded from 34 games – and he played every one of them. Looking to continue in Euro 2016, Alderweireld has opted for the Nike Magista Opus Firm Ground Soccer Shoe. These football shoes provide high traction and good ergonomic support and also have an adaptive Kanga-Lite upper that hugs tightly onto the foot for firm support.
