If you’re a running enthusiast and you enjoy being outdoors then Dubai is the perfect place for you. We’ve put together a list of our top 5 favourite running spots to check out this season.
Hitting the number one spot is the Jumeirah Corniche which boasts one of the longest running tracks in Dubai, making this a great location for those of you looking for that extra challenge. Beginning at the Dubai Marine beach resort and stretching to the Burj Al Arab hotel, you can enjoy a 14km run surrounded by a stretch of beautiful beaches and the iconic Burj Al Arab in the background.
If you like the corniche track then you’ll love Al Barsha Park. The running track’s spongy surface lessens the impact as you run, for a softer landing each time your feet strike the ground. The track is marked along the way so you can record your distance as you go. This is great for motivating you to run that extra mile and beat your personal best each time you hit the track.
Al Ittihad is a great option for families – take your kids, pets, friends and enjoy a great day out. Located next to the Fairmont hotel, this 3km track is not only great for running, you can also mix up your cardio session with some weight training on the pull-up bars. Also animal-friendly, you can take your dog along for the run and end your workout at the nearby café for a healthy post-workout smoothie.
If you’re living in the Marina or JBR, then you’ve got a great running track right on your doorstep at the JBR beach. After enjoying the track, you’ll be able to choose from a huge range of cafes or restaurants to re-energise post-run. The spongy track is good for low-impact exercise and is a great way to train if you’re building up for a big race. You’ll also come across the outdoor gym, with a range of fitness machines that everyone is welcome to use – and all for free! JBR can get very busy during peak hours, so it’s advised that you hit the track in the morning and make this your favourite spot for your early morning run.
Bay Avenue Park is perfectly located for everyone living in Business Bay and the Downtown area. The track stretches for 5km, surrounded by Dubai’s high-rise cityscape and a great view of the iconic Burj Khalifa. There’s a skate park nearby and a range of workout machines to mix up your running routine. You’ll also find a lot of restaurants close by, so you can fuel up after your run.
Dubai is excellent for running, offering a variety of tracks and scenic routes that cater to all fitness levels. Popular locations for sports running include Dubai Marina, Kite Beach, and Zabeel Park, making the city ideal for a morning run or casual jogging.
Most running tracks in Dubai are made of cushioned rubberized materials designed to minimize joint impact and improve comfort, making them perfect for long-distance running. Places like Dubai Creek Park and Al Barsha Pond Park feature well-maintained tracks with greenery, while the Dubai Fitness Challenge promotes running events like Dubai Run, transforming Sheikh Zayed Road into a vibrant running venue annually.
Whether you’re into jogging parks or prefer a Dubai park run, the city offers plenty of opportunities to embrace fitness while enjoying stunning surroundings.
