Tear Past The Finish Line In The Nike Kids’ Lunar Converge Shoe

Track and field events make up a large portion of any school’s athletic curriculum and the competition to stand atop the victory podium can be fierce. To own the track, kids need the right discipline, focus, determination, not to mention intense practice. But more than all this, it takes the will to succeed, and that makes all the difference between the first and the second to tear past the finish line.

Running has never been more popular than today – and for good reason. No matter the distance, setting, style, or age – running is always an enjoyable and inclusive sport. Today a much younger crowd is seen at the starting lines of local running events. Amisha Ann Puri, a 12-year-old runner, rugby player and Sun & Sand Sports ambassador, knows the joys of running.

Starting out at the age of three, Amisha has enjoyed it ever since, because running and hurdling keep her healthy, fit and ignite her passion. Awarded netball player of the year and rugby player of the season, this Indian-English athlete strikes a balance between sports and school through discipline.

We stole a few moments from Amisha’s schedule to speak to her about her passion.

What’s your training schedule like during school days?

My training schedule will be running every morning, because it’s cooler. And I usually do long distances with my dog – I run around the block with her. I usually train at school three days a week. On the weekend, I do a lot of running because it’s not interfering with my homework or my friends or other activities.

What has playing sports taught you?

I’ve learned to never give up and always chase your dreams. I’ve made a lot of friends through sports because they share the same passion that I do, and it’s also good to have a team player that’s one of your best friends.

What are your other running plans?

To go to America and other countries and do a lot of running!

What advice can you give other kids who want to get into running and sports?

It makes me feel very proud to be a Sun & Sand Sports ambassador because I can show younger people the technique on how to do hurdles and running. I suggest get your homework done first, or any activity you have to do first. For your running, never give up and you have to get the balance correct between your speed and weight.

To go the distance like Amisha does takes sheer passion. Supporting this dream to be the first at the end of the track is the Nike Kids’ Lunar Converge Shoe. Designed to keep little champs swift on their feet, the Lunar Converge cushions the foot, keeping it comfortable as you burn up the track from start to finish.

Nike Kids' Shoe

If the Nike Kids’ Lunar Converge Shoe has to see you through to victory, it needs to be supportive and comfortable. Keeping this in mind, the shoe is designed with an open-hole mesh upper that delivers unparalleled breathability with every stride. This minimal upper with no-sew overlays offers seam-free comfort that reduces irritation caused due to chafing. Its padded tongue and collar protect against impact, while a removable foam insole and a breathable fabric lining creates a plush feel.

A dual density foam midsole cushions the foot as you pound the track in your sprints, and strategically placed rubber segments in the heel provide long-lasting durability and traction. Specially engineered pods in the outsole’s forefoot enable exceptional flexibility and smooth transitions from heel strike to toe-off. Moulded indentations in the outsole enhance flexibility, keeping you nimble on your run.
