SSS Outdoor Adventure

Continuing our Outdoor Series and making the most of the awesome weather, Sun & Sand Sports decided to embark on an outdoor adventure, choosing a group of key influencers from the local Dubai community to take part. The SSS Explorers included Ozan Akkaya, Debbie Fortes, Asil Abdo,Ghida Arnaout, brothers Conrad and Lucas Bay, and Nabeel Merchant.

To being their journey, the Explorers headed to the Sun & Sand Sports Store at The Dubai Mall to choose the right equipment for their adventure. Browsing through the new outdoor range, the SSS Explorers chose between the right boots, apparel, headwear, backpacks and equipment to set them up for the day ahead.

Now that the gear was sorted, it was time to begin the adventure. The SSS Explorers were picked up in Classic Land Rovers that not only looked the part, they were also perfect for hitting the dunes in. Setting off in an SSS convoy with GoPros at the ready, the team headed to the Rub Al Khali Desert for an adventure-packed day. Also known as the ‘ Empty Quarter,’ the location boasts one of the largest continuous sand deserts in the world, encompassing most of the southern third of the Arabian Peninsula, including parts of Saudi Arabia, Oman, the UAE and Yemen.

The Explorers started off their adventure by checking out the Wildlife Nature Reserve, surrounded by a herd of gazelles roaming in the wilderness. After catching a quick spot of lunch with the locals, they moved on to the more action-based activities with lessons on how to sandboard and learning how to build a campfire.
