It has been a long and remarkable journey for Al Hilal FC and this year marks the Saudi Arabian football giant’s 60th anniversary! In line with the diamond celebration, Nike and Al Hilal unveil the special third kit that truly reflects The Blue Waves spirit.
Al Hilal FC has a storied history and a rich football legacy that began on October 16th, 1957. It was founded by Abdul Rahman Bin Saad Bin Saeed and was initially named the Olympic Club. But it was later changed to Al Hilal (meaning crescent) by the late King Saud bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. Since then, the team has collected 56 official titles, 44 local wins and six AFC trophies – making it the most successful football club in the Kingdom. Al Hilal has 14 Saudi Professional League wins and 13 Crown Prince Cup honours under the belt, and it is the current title holder of the first Saudi Founder’s Cup, the football tournament held every 100 years. Also known as Al Za’eem (The Boss), Al Hilal is ranked the number one football club in KSA, and has a massive fan following that never fails to show their unwavering support whether on the bleaches or online. With the recent win and march into the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Champions League 2017 finals, the boys in blue continue to prove why they are still the team to beat.
Featuring the double blue combination and the special 60-year emblem on the chest, the kit represents Al Hilal’s every victory, milestone and all the hard work that has taken them to where they are today. The jersey and shorts symbolise the heritage and vision for the future, not only for the club, but also for the sport in the Kingdom. Made of breathable mesh and stretchy polyester with Dri-FIT technology, the kit is engineered for maximum performance and comfort. As a proud sponsor of Al Hilal FC, the Sun & Sand Sports logo is emblazoned on the back of the jersey.
