The new Al Ahli football kit has landed

The Dubai Mall Sun & Sand Sports store played host to the much-anticipated launch of the 2015-16 Al Ahli football kit yesterday, and it was an afternoon to remember. In this exclusive event, footballers Everton Ribeiro, Majed Hassan and Ismail Al Hammadi revealed the new Nike strips as they stepped out onto the SSS Event Zone stage sporting the new kit.

The Design

The traditional red Home jersey features the Nike Dri-Fit technology to keep the body cool during play, boasting a modern design with gradient checks, a hybrid crew collar and an embroidered Nike trademark.

The new Away kit is a white Dri-Fit knit jersey with hybrid crew collar and a yarn dye three-stripe front panel in a fabric mix of solid stripe, mesh stripe and satin pin stripe. The club kit also comes in a third design with a Dri-Fit knit jersey with hybrid crew collar and a graphic front panel with traditional sash in gradient execution. Both versions feature an embroidered swoosh design trademark.

The Event

Hosted by MC Mo Ismail, a.k.a. ‘Mo Muscles’, the launch event kicked off with a Q&A session with the three players, discussing everything from teammates, to tackles and technique on the pitch. Attending the event were media representatives from the region, local influencers and bloggers — as well as a group of Al Ahli fans who also took part in the Q&A session, asking the footballers about their personal goals, motivation and favourite football clubs.

Next on the agenda was the lucky draw in which three fans were given the opportunity to go head-to-head in a one-on-one shoot-out with the Al Ahli players in the Sun & Sand Sports interactive Football Zone. A touch-screen goal, which measures the accuracy of each shot, ranked the players on a live digital score board for all the see — the fan with the highest score receiving a once-in-a-lifetime masterclass with the Al Ahli players and their coach. The fans then gathered for a photo opportunity with the footballers and had their jerseys signed by their favourite player.
